Your Purpose

Your role as the Outreach and Engagement Lead is to develop a strategy of policy engagement that informs Aaqua safety and integrity practices and policies. You will be responsible for executing this strategy and to also educate partners and members of Aaqua on our key safety and integrity principles and approaches.


Your Focus

Your contribution will include:

•Develop and sustain a network of partnerships and collaboration with external experts, industry thought leaders, civil society leaders and multistakeholder initiatives in the space of Trust and Safety
•Leverage research to inform and improve our safety strategy, platform policy development and safety designs for the product
•Develop and validate approaches explaining our values, principles and overall policy/enforcement approach with a view to drive Industry alignment and consensus with thought leaders and practitioners in the online safety ecosystem.
•Develop and delivery training modules for partners, members and brands to help them appreciate and understand Aaqua’s safety and integrity principles and policies, and to support their Community moderation efforts.
•Establish external governance and advisory forums with a view to transparency and accountability.


Your Journey

Ideally your career journey to date will have given you experience in or exposure to the following:

•4 years or more of experience in partnerships or outreach / developer relations type roles at tech/social media / User Generated Content (UGC) platforms.
•Deep understanding of UGC, short video-sharing platforms, features, and its related safety and integrity issues.
•Experience designing programs and resources relating to minor safety, digital literacy, online bullying etc.
•Familiarity and comfort in engaging with experts, thought leaders, civil society and digital rights activists, and various relevant stakeholders in the Trust and Safety space.
•Background in partnerships, marketing, policy program implementation.


Your Knowledge

Given your epic background, you will have an out of ordinary understanding of how safety issues can manifest on social media.
