Your Community

You will be a part of the Operations and Service team and will be reporting to the Chief Operations Officer

Your Purpose

Your purpose is to ensure that the Aaqua members can fully experience their passion in a respectful, safe and trustful environment. You will develop and build scalable operations, architecting product, processes and services to keep the Aaqua member community safe from objectionable and harmful content and experiences.

Your Focus

In this role, you work to balance user behaviour, growth, and safety through systems and operations to ensure our platform’s and members’ health and safety. You will think strategically about scaling processes and operations, as well as tactically about enforcing content integrity and mitigating risks.

This senior role must balance internal operational realities with external policy pressures, enhance operational teams and culture while communicating complex ideas to management and creating internal alignment.

  • Build Trust & Safety functions and processes from the ground up
  • Manage all content moderation operations teams and sites (inhouse, outsourced, quality assurance). Content moderation including hate speech, profanity, nudity, copyright infringement, etc.
  • Ensure Trust and Safety of all content in accordance with Social Media best practice as well as local and global law enforcement
  • Act as the contact point with Technology teams to provide the requirements for the content monitoring and moderation features and capabilities (machine learning, computer vision, NLP etc), and align with Operations teams to ensure continued efficiency, scalability and quality across all workflows
  • Work with the Chief Partner Officer to establish terms, tools and processes to self-moderate Partner-run passion communities
  • Act as a global escalation point, aligning with all stakeholders to respond to emergency content safety-related cases and provide suitable follow-up reports (root cause analysis and action plan)

Job requirements

Your knowledge:

  • 10+ years of overall experience and experience related to Trust & Safety
  • Experience leading a large-scale operation team
  • Extensive team management experience with both senior contributors and managers
  • Experience interfacing with Public Policy, Legal and Product teams
  • Respect for other cultures and deep empathy for users
  • Proven track record of consistently exceeding operational targets
  • In depth knowledge of the content moderation outsourcing/offshoring business processes and vendor management landscape.
  • Experience with crisis management
  • High comfort with data analysis, capable of in-depth interpretation and insights extraction
