Your Purpose

Your role as Head of Finance & Operations will focus on set-up of the ANZ business and building a strong foundation for growth across the region. You will deputise for the GM across day-to-day operations while also working closely with the Global Finance Director to drive key company growth initiatives across Finance, Procurement, Technology, Partners, Members, Monetisation, and offline events.

Your Focus

Your contribution will include building out and helping to lead a rapidly growing ANZ team, as well as providing functional leadership across all finance, partner and commercial operations.

• Lead AAQUA’s finance and core business operations across Australia and New Zealand.
• Prepare monthly cashflow forecast and optimise working capital (oversee collections/ payments).
• Ensure the ANZ business meets all its statutory and compliance obligations, including tax.
• Prepare, review and monitor/manage budgets. Lead annual audit and draft financial accounts.
• Carefully manage and oversee all external relationships with auditors, advisors and banks.
• Develop plans, implement governance processes and policy for delivery of operational roadmaps.
• Play a key role in recruitment, forming and coaching a high-performing and diverse team of talented personnel from the Media, Entertainment, Technology and Social Media landscape.
• Partner with Legal and Tech teams on IP and Data Governance and managing technology risk.
• Implement processes to manage risks and optimize operational delivery, incl. oversight of vendor performance, business continuity, and governance/control over procurement of goods & services.
• Support the global executive leadership team with planning, executing business priorities, and collaborating with functional and regional teams to develop budgets, objectives, policies and dashboards.
• Develop business cases with alternatives evaluation, scope, cost, risk, interdependencies, implementation, impact, measurement, scaling and iteration.
• Established skills with guidelines and processes for monthly reviews, budgeting and forecasting.

Job requirements

Your Journey

Ideally your career journey to date will have given you experience in or exposure to the following:

• At least 15 years experience working in finance/bus dev across media & entertainment industry.
• At least 10 years working across digital media, and building/leading high-performing teams.
• Experience leading teams in financial planning and analysis, and set-up or transformation of finance dept.
• Strong business acumen with exposure to commercial and strategic partnerships.
• Experience within social media or community/fan-driven businesses will be desirable though not essential.
• Ability to work independently, manage stress and multi-task in a faced-paced environment.
• Proactive team player who can work collaboratively with teams across a global organisation.

Your Knowledge

Given your epic background, you will have technical knowledge in working across financial software systems and an ability to build solid business cases. Ideally, you will have rounded this knowledge out with a tertiary education in Finance or Accounting. As we are a global team to truly connect and collaborate, your business English skills are a must.
