Your Community 

Based in London, you’ll be a member of the global Communications team, working closely with key stakeholders across the company.

 

Your Purpose

As Head of Communications, Trust & Safety, you’ll play a critical role in shaping and sharing Aaqua’s T&S strategy and story. The role requires strong cross-functional interactions with teams based across Asia, Europe and the US.

 

Your Focus

  • Develop messaging, proactive / reactive narratives and identify storytelling opportunities to build awareness of Aaqua T&S principles, policies, features and approaches to both our internal and relevant external stakeholders
  • Function as the first level of response to high-profile media escalations and fielding media requests in real-time in partnership with key stakeholders​
  • Highlight Aaqua’s T&S stories - from product launches to corporate philosophy to concrete steps taken through product enhancements and policy decisions​
  • Develop and curate the Safety and Help Centres on Aaqua's website to ensure that safety and privacy resources are communicated to members and external stakeholders transparently, clearly and simply​
  • Counsel cross-functional partners in policy, legal, marketing and other groups within the company on a broad set of communications matters ranging from policy, safety operations​
  • Help establish a global playbook for strategic and rapid response best practices

 

Job requirements

Your knowledge:

  • 5-10 years' experience in PR & Communications at hypergrowth, heavily scrutinised companies with expertise in public policy, trust & safety for social media​
  • Experience of technology, social media or internet industries is essential ​
  • A true domain expert of complex policy issues at a global level​
  • Skilled in managing relationships with key media, influencers and industry leaders - preferably in a regional or global role​
  • You have a strong roster of media relationships and are well respected amongst your journalist peers. If a phone call needs to be made to talk through an important (or potentially big) story, you can do so with confidence and nous​
  • You can spot challenges and issues before they happen, can build trusted partnerships across teams, and excel in a fast-paced environment​
  • A proven ability to maintain composure while navigating complex issues with multiple inputs in a fast-paced environment​
  • Strong people skills – you’ll need to be able to work with people of all levels & nationalities and manage a wide variety of stakeholders and navigate in an ambiguous environment​
  • High EQ with sensitivity and respect for all cultures, religions and orientations​

Your Travels

With AAQUA growing across the world, you may be required to travel domestically and internationally on an ad hoc basis when needed
