Your Community


You will be a member of the learning technologies team, reporting to the Learning Technology Applied Research Engineering, collaborating across the organization to help drive the responsible adoption of learning technologies.


Your Focus


Your contribution will include:

Primary Role

  • Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture.​
  • Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional / non-functional business requirements.​
  • Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL and AWS ‘big data’ technologies.​
  • Work with data and analytics experts to strive for greater functionality in our data systems.​
  • Work with product teams to implement the production pipelines for model deployment.
  • Help ML Engineers and Research Scientist with building data pipelines.​
  • An expert on data transformation on big data environments​
  • An expert in conducting data audits or feasibility assessment on readiness for data for ML use-cases.​
  • Build understanding of data attributes and work with Aaqua’s busines teams to build a data dictionary.​
  • Automate checks for Data Quality, Completeness etc. ​
  • Help build the datastore for Machine Learning training.​
  • Help create data pipelines for machine learning model deployment.​
  • Help build data monitoring infrastructure in production.

Your Journey


Ideally your career journey to date will have given you experience in or exposure to the following:​

  • 5+ yrs experience in a Data Engineer role, who has attained a Graduate degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Informatics, Information Systems or another quantitative field.​
  • Experience with big data tools: Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, etc.​
  • Experience with relational SQL and NoSQL databases, including Postgres and Cassandra.​
  • Experience with data pipeline and workflow management tools: Azkaban, Luigi, Airflow, etc.​
  • Experience with AWS cloud services: EC2, EMR, RDS, Redshift​
  • Experience with stream-processing systems: Flink, Storm, Spark-Streaming, etc.​
  • Experience with object-oriented/object function scripting languages: Python, Java, Scala, etc.
