Your Community

You will be a member of the Aaqua Tech team, working closely with the VP Engineering and the different engineering teams to build out a strong Agile and innovative culture.

Your Purpose

Your passion and enthusiasm about building Agile organisations will be a beacon for the entire team. Your main purpose is to help the teams to continuously deliver high-quality software and instil a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

Your Focus

Your contribution will include:

  • Build a strong Agile, inclusive and open culture where continuous improvement and retrospectives (Kaizen) are central.
  • Build a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or being judged, with an emphasis of healing and problem solving.
  • Guide and mentor the teams and scrum masters on how to use Agile/Scrum practices and values to truly become self-organising teams and delight our users.
  • Educate the organisation on Agile practices.
  • Assess the Agile maturity of the teams and organisation and supporting them to higher levels of maturity, at a pace that is sustainable and comfortable for the team and organisation.
  • Navigate the organisation (and support the teams to do so) to remove impediments
  • Act as a hands-on scrum master in some of the teams because you believe in 'Lead by example'.
  • Facilitate getting the work done without coercion, assigning, or dictating the work.
  • Facilitate discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution.
  • Assist with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and radiating information.
  • Support and educate the Product Owners, especially with respect to refining and managing the team backlog.
  • Define and report on a few simple metrics, focused on outcomes, to assure we are moving in the right direction.

Your Knowledge

  • You are a certified Scrum Master (PSM 1, 2, 3, CSM, CSP, CTC).
  • Have 5+ years of hands-on scrum master work.
  • You have coached other scrum masters, product owners and teams.
  • A proven history in servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continuous improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency.
  • Knowledge of numerous well documented patterns and techniques for filling in the intentional gaps left in the Scrum approach(example: numerous Burndown techniques, numerous Retrospective formats, handling bugs, etc).
  • You understand that every company is different and can put things in perspective for the greater good.
  • Have experience with scaling scrum/agile. e.g. LeSS and SAFe
  • Knowledge of other approaches discussed in the Agile space. e.g. XP, Kanban, Nexus, Crystal, FDD, etc
  • You have excellent communication, listening and mentoring skills.
